ALL ABOUT ARRR-CHEAOLOGY: A FIRST LEGO LEAGUE INNOVATION PROJECT BY THE EAST SIDE PI-RATES

At STREM HQ Tech Academy, we are incredibly proud of the East Side Elementary PI-RATES—one of our amazing FIRST LEGO League teams who continue to impress us each year.

Last season, the PI-RATES earned the Champion Award, and this year, under the 2024–2025 FIRST LEGO League “Unearthed” theme, they took on an even more ambitious challenge.

Instead of creating a traditional research presentation, the team designed a full 59-page children’s activity book titled “All About ARRR-chaeology.”Filled with puzzles, fun facts, illustrations, and hands-on activities, the book brings archaeology to life in a fun and accessible way for young learners.

What makes us even more proud is the team’s decision to connect their FLL project to real-world impact. The PI-RATES chose to donate all proceeds from the digital download to the Archaeological Institute of America—a perfect example of how FIRST LEGO League inspires students to innovate with empathy and purpose.
